Logging

Choose what to log, where to send it and how long it is kept.

1 min read

Logging records what happens in your server and sends it to channels you choose.

What you can log

  • Message edits and deletes
  • Member joins and leaves
  • Role and nickname changes
  • Channel and role changes
  • Moderation actions
  • Voice activity

Set it up

  1. Create private channels for logs, for example one for moderation and one for messages.
  2. Open Logging in the dashboard.
  3. Assign a channel to each event type.
  4. Save changes.

Retention

FreePro
Audit and log retention7 days90 days

Logs in Discord channels stay as long as you keep the messages. The retention above applies to what Discobi stores for the dashboard.

Keep logs private

Ignore noisy channels

You can exclude channels and roles, for example bot command channels, so logs stay useful.
