Appeals

Appeals give banned members a fair way to ask for a review, handled by your staff.

How it works

1. A banned member submits an appeal with an explanation.
2. Staff see it in a review list with the original case and reason.
3. A moderator accepts or denies it.
4. The member is told the decision.

Set it up

1. Open Appeals in the dashboard.
2. Choose where appeals are posted for staff.
3. Write the instructions members see.
4. Choose which roles can decide.

Review

Use /appeal review to list pending appeals. Accepting an appeal can unban the member and records the outcome on the case.

Good practice

• State your appeal rules clearly so members know what to include.
• Decide as a team on sensitive cases and add a private note.
• Reply promptly so people do not give up and return with new accounts.
